Hosted by Menjadi & Planet Indonesia

Understanding the value-adding roles of funding intermediaries through an equity lens.

With a growing emphasis on funding local conservation organizations, funding intermediaries play increasingly important roles in channeling conservation and climate finance to frontline organizations and communities. Funding intermediaries have, therefore, become key actors in enabling or inhibiting the growth, development, and power of local CSOs. In this session, we will explore how to integrate equity into the roles, relationships, and practices of funding intermediaries to create the enabling conditions for thriving local CSOs and effective community conservation globally.

Session Highlights:

  • Learn about the results of recent research in Indonesia assessing the experiences and perspectives of Indonesian CSOs with funding intermediaries.
  • Hear from panelists how these results and findings do/don’t apply to other regions around the world.
  • Discuss and reflect on how donors and funding intermediaries can play key roles in shifting power and influence to local CSOs.
  • Hear from panelists on what equity means to them in the context of regranting and the practices of funding intermediaries.

Event 2: Locally-Led Alliances to Scale Impact

Friday, 4th April at 10:00 - 11:00am in the Langford room at Lincoln College, Oxford

Hosted by Aliansi Bumi Kita & Planet Indonesia

Across Indonesia, local organizations are leading key efforts to secure community tenure, influence policy, and strengthen community-led governance over land and marine resources. While these efforts are powerful on their own, strategic alliances and networks can amplify their reach, accelerate systemic change, and create lasting impact.

Come and meet the frontline organizations leading the way.

This session will:

  • Reflect on the role of alliances and networks in strengthening impact and advocating for change.
  • Provide a unique opportunity to hear directly from five local organizations in Indonesia, who will share:
  • Their work on the ground.
  • The importance of alliances in scaling grassroots efforts.
