Community partners patrolled over a total of 3200 kilometers in both marine and terrestrial environments. This distance is like walking from San Diego to Los Angeles, California every single month!!!
We distributed over $100,000 US dollars to families in need of economic relief in response to COVID-19. Read More.
This year, we expanded our Community Health Program from only one village in 2019 to all partner villages in 2020, reflecting our dedication to planetary health.
We expanded our village partnerships and worked alongside over 26,000 individuals.
Our 2020 data revealed a 39% drop in exploitative activity across our project sites. This reveals that despite the prediction that COVID-19 would illicit higher rates of natural resource exploitation across the world, our conservation model continues to deliver results.
Working with communities, we saw over 15,000 trees planted in terrestrial landscapes and over 18,200 mangrove seedlings in coastal habitats.
Our climate smart agriculture program helped farmer groups harvest over 3,000 kilograms of organic vegetables
Borneo’s largest periodic fishing closure was implemented by 6 villages that banded together to support sustainable small-scale fisheries
Our team published new research providing evidence of the significant positive impacts for our holistic approach for people and nature.
We at Planet Indonesia are thankful for all of our partner communities and the resilience and strength they have shown in the face of the unprecedented challenges of 2020. We are excited about the impact we have achieved and are looking forward to the continuation of our impact, growth and breadth of our community-led partnerships.
